Ramadan is a month that brings blessings not only for those who observe it but also for those in need, sharing and giving back. This year, Smiles Mobile Remittance Indonesia partnered again with BRI Bank to launch the "Ramadan Blessing 2025 30-Day" campaign. This campaign calls on users to give back to those in distress and spread happiness throughout March.
This program is not just a social contribution but also a movement to enhance humanitarian values. With the support of our "Smilers," the Ramadan of 2025 became more meaningful, filled with hope, and had a significant impact on those in need.
Smiles' Mission: Sharing Smiles and Kindness
Smiles understands that Ramadan is not just about fasting; it is important to show charity and compassion to others. That's why the "Ramadan Blessing" program was designed to help those in need and to impact citizens positively. This movement aligns with Smiles' vision and mission as a deeply caring service.
Throughout the holy month of Ramadan, Smiles Mobile Remittance deducted 10 points (equivalent to 10 yen) from the usual "Smiles points" that users earn with each transaction. These points were accumulated and allocated as donations for food, funds, and other essential items for those in need in Indonesia. Thanks to your giving spirit, we were able to spread joy throughout the month while safely delivering assistance to those in need. Therefore, each transaction made by our users carries a deeper meaning and impact on the community.
Impact of Ramadan Blessing 2025
With the support of our "Smilers" and BRI Bank, the remarkable achievements during the Ramadan Blessing 2025 program are as follows:
Donations to the underprivileged and orphans
Smiles supported a total of 656 orphans and over 30 families across Lombok, Central Java, and West Java. Ramadan is a perfect opportunity to give to those in need. Through the Smiles points accumulated from transactions during Ramadan, we distributed assistance in the form of food, school supplies, and daily necessities to 12 orphanages. Thanks to our users, we were able to bring joy and happiness to orphans, underprivileged people, and low-income families who strive for a better life.
Iftar with the Japanese community
To support Indonesians living far from home in Japan, Smiles introduced a new program called "Bukber On The Go with Smiles and BRI." This cooperative initiative aims to support Iftar events in various communities across Japan as a testament of compassion for those who fast away from their hometowns.
This year, we visited four prefectures: Hiroshima, Tottori, Fukuoka, and Tokyo, sharing happiness and warmth during Ramadan. One of the highlights of this program was visiting the "NU Fukuoka Community" (affiliated with the Nahdlatul Ulama special branch in Japan: PCINU), strengthening the sense of Islamic brotherhood among the Indonesian Muslim community in Japan. This event was not just about enjoying delicious meals but also about fostering connections and sharing stories.
Smiles × Dompet Dhuafa: Charity and Zakat Fitrah Program
Smiles partnered with the NPO "Dompet Dhuafa" to promote the Sadaqa (charitable activities) and Zakat Fitrah (charity given at the end of fasting) programs, enabling users to fulfill their religious obligations safely and quickly.
Zakat Fitrah: Distributed to rightful recipients, allowing all Muslims to celebrate Id al-Fitr joyously.
Ramadan Charity: Donations from Smiles users were used to ensure that low-income households received food, clothing, and other basic human rights.
Through our partnership with Dompet Dhuafa, thousands of people experienced happiness during the holy month. Smiles promises to continue supporting programs that make a real-world impact.
4. Gratitude to Loyal Smiles Users
As a token of our appreciation, Smiles presented the "Ramadan Blessing Hamper" as a special gift to those who celebrated Ramadan away from their hometowns and families, sharing kindness. Through this gift, we aimed to provide traditional Eid dishes, worship items, and new clothing, ensuring that the Indonesian community in Japan could feel the warmth and joy of the holy month.
Though Ramadan has ended, the spirit of kindness continues
Smiles believes that true happiness comes not only from receiving but also from giving.
Through the Ramadan Blessing 2025 program, Smiles took a small step to create a positive social impact in the world. However, this is not the end; it's merely the beginning of a long journey of sharing smiles and hope.
Thanks to your continued support, we promise to hold many more social contribution activities and community-connecting events and remain a part of them. We deeply thank all participants. Together, we have proven that even the smallest kindness can make a significant difference in someone's life.
Let’s take steps of kindness to "Share Smiles" and build a better world. 💛😊
