Today, we directly donated to medical institutions in Japan, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, and other countries. This was primarily aimed at contributing to the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and was carried out in collaboration with our mobile remittance service users.

Over 95% of our service users are foreigners residing in Japan, who live in harmony with Japanese society and play a vital role in the Japanese economy. This program, which collaborated with users around the globe, aims to support both their home countries and Japanese society. It was made possible by a very dynamic digital online service that operates efficiently even under lockdown conditions.

As part of the planned activities, users made donations of a set amount for all remittances made during a specific campaign period. In connection with this, Digital Wallet also made an equivalent donation.

Furthermore, it was a great joy to receive additional donations from some users. Both I and team members made personal contributions as well. As a result, a total of 1,100,000 yen was raised during the approximately three-week campaign period, and the funds were successfully transferred to each institution.

The main beneficiaries of this program are as follows.

  • Japanese Red Cross Medical Center (Tokyo)

    • Established in 1886, this is Japan's first Red Cross hospital and functions as a highly advanced medical center with reliable ER (emergency) capabilities. It is currently at the forefront of COVID-19 measures, particularly for severely ill patients. Both I and team members, along with their families, have personal experiences where we were saved by the services of this center. This donation is a token of appreciation for their dedicated and courageous service.

  • PGH Medical Foundation (Philippines)

    • A non-profit organization established to support the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) in achieving its noble mission of providing excellent healthcare. PGH is the top government hospital in the Philippines, treating over 500,000 patients annually, 98% of whom are from low-income backgrounds. It is now one of the designated COVID-19 hospitals in the Philippines.

  • Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (Vietnam)

    • The highest authority of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and the only government organization authorized to receive donations for COVID-19 victims. The Vietnam Fatherland Front is regarded as an important part of the Vietnamese government. This donation supports the impoverished people in Vietnam affected by COVID-19.

  • Dompet Dhuafa (Indonesia)

    • An Indonesian non-profit organization established to enhance the social dignity of the impoverished through ZISWAF (Zakat, Infak, Charity, Wakaf, and other clean legal funds). Donations are frequently utilized to assist isolated poor households (medical support, daily necessities, ambulance services, etc.).

It is immensely satisfying that users and team members of various nationalities could unite to confront the situation of COVID-19 across borders. In the 'post-corona' era, where the evolution of the virus triggered the current COVID-19, we are renewed in our determination to operate our services effectively for global citizens, regardless of nationality or race. We endeavor to ensure that the evolution of Digital Wallet Inc. surpasses any virus.
