Digital Wallet Co., Ltd., which operates Japan's largest mobile international remittance service Smiles Mobile Remittance (Smiles), has made a donation to support educational programs for foreign youth living in Japan through the certified NPO Katariwa, aimed at supporting high school students who are unable to continue their studies due to various difficulties.

Our company, which aims to realize a sustainable society for users active globally, has decided to take action to contribute to the improvement of the situation that has made daily life even more difficult due to the coronavirus. Despite the harsh social environment, we aim to bring a bright future to the society that the younger generation will be responsible for, and we have made a donation to one of the projects run by Katariwa, the 'Roots' project, by halting part of our advertising promotions.

Since 2001, Katariwa has been a non-profit organization that continues to work towards a society where all teenagers can cultivate the power to create a future, regardless of the environment in which they are born and raised. The 'Roots' project, which is one of Katariwa's activities, provides various support through high school class hours and after-school time so that young people with roots in foreign countries can envision their futures, and they are working towards a future where differences do not lead to disparities, but rather 'differences become richness.'

The 'Roots' project shares core values similar to our company's goals of a peaceful and prosperous society through diversity and believes that its activities can provide a rich future for the younger generation. Our company brings together diverse and outstanding professionals from around the world and demonstrates its strength as a global company. We are all very excited to see diverse young students from various nationalities prepare for and leap towards their bright futures.

Our company is currently running a project that will provide food donations in the Philippines for 100 consecutive days until December 25, taking action towards realizing a sustainable society in Asian countries. This time, we have made a donation to the Roots project in Japan as part of our commitment to achieving a rich and peaceful future society between Japan and various Asian countries.
