Smiles Attends Indonesia International Friendship Day 2026 as Main Sponsor

Sponsor

On Jun. 6 and 7, 2026, Smiles Mobile Remittance and its Indonesia team shared smiles as the main sponsor of the fourth annual Indonesia International Friendship Day (IIFD 2026). The event was hosted by the Toyota Indonesia Group (TIG).

Held in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, the event was represented as a cultural bridge, uniting the Indonesian community, local Japanese residents and international communities in a great celebration of friendship and culture.

The love of the Indonesian community

For Smiles, being a major sponsor goes far beyond brand visibility. It is about actively showing up for our Sahabat Smiles (Smiles customers) and reinforcing our commitment to the global community living and working in Japan.

The Smiles booth was the center of excitement throughout the day. The team had the wonderful opportunity to interact directly with hundreds of visitors, answer questions about the service and bond with loyal customers who visited.

Honored guests and community leaders

The importance of this year’s celebration was further elevated by the presence of several prominent figures who came out to show their support for the community. Smiles was privileged to welcome and engage with notable leaders, including:

  • Hiromi Naoe, Chairperson of the Aichi Prefectural Assembly Aichi-Indonesia Exchange Research Committee

  • Masada Satou, Executive Director of the Aichi Japan-Indonesia Friendship and Cultural Exchange Association

  • Yuto Amakawa, Chairman of the Multicultural Coexistence Promotion Committee JCI

  • Representatives from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (KEMLU) and key diplomatic figures

A celebration of culture and friendship

The Indonesia International Friendship Day event featured an array of traditional Indonesian dance performances, live musical acts and stalls offering authentic culinary treats.

By backing events like IIFD, Smiles continues its mission to be more than just a financial service. The service strives to be a reliable partner that champions cultural heritage and maintains deep-rooted bonds within the international community.

Sharing smiles together

The Smiles team greatly appreciates the organizers of the fourth annual Indonesia International Friendship Day event, the volunteers and everyone who stopped by the Smiles booth to share a moment (and a smile) with us. We look forward to supporting many more community milestones in the future.
